Given the price of this pitcher, I really expected a bit more. First off, if your steam wand doesn't stick straight down, then the pitcher doesn't work very well. I purchased the 12 oz size, which is a nice size, but I haven't really been all that impressed with it yet. The jury is still out for the moment, but so far it seems to work about as well as the generic $6 pitcher I bought locally. With that said, the milk does spin in a toroid fashion and if you get it going just right, you do get some decent micro foam. However, basically the same thing can be accomplished by surfing the tip in a normal pitcher and swirling the milk around (instead of up and over). Would I buy this pitcher again given the cost and results? No, probably not. Even if it was $19.95, I would think twice about buying it again. I'm going to see about repositioning the steam wand a bit more on my La Pavoni; if there are any great improvements, then I'll provide a subsequent review. For now, not super thrilled with the ol' $31.95 Toroid pitcher... UPDATE: I've been using this pitcher a bit more and have discovered you have to use it a bit differently than normal pitchers for the best results. With a normal pitcher, you surf the tip. With this one, for best results, you just plunge it down about 3/4 of an inch under the surface of the milk and shoot straight down. That seems to work best and actually, it does produce some pretty nice forth/foam using that method. I guess you need to keep the tip a bit closer to the bump in the bottom. I changed my rating from 3 stars to 5.
