This heavyweight stainless steel espresso tamper is exceptionally well made and offers a comfortable grip for the serious barista. Precision machined from a solid piece of grade 304 stainless steel this tamper weighs almost 1-1/2 lb! The tamper base offers a perfectly flat bottom and is available in various diameter sizes to match your espresso machine's filter basket. Each tamper has the base diameter laser etched on the side of the base for reference.

It has a great feel in the hand and is very ergonomic as far as the curves when tamping. I use a very light tamp, so the heavy weight of this is almost all you need (plus a little extra down force). The one piece construction is very nice. I'm using a 49mm one for my La Pavoni pre-millenium europiccola and it works well. 49.5mm would be probably perfect, but for the money, this tamper is very nice and works well.
