Fabulous coffee, beautiful and functional pot! Review by Teresa

This pot is so pretty, who would believe that it makes the best coffee I've ever had? The other reviewers are right - you have to season the pot with water and then a couple of coffee brews before actually drinking the results, but it's worth the time and wait. I use the 6-cup model, filtered water, and the Miscela d'Oro coffees, and will experiment with others. And I'm going to order the larger pot at some point in the future.

Scored a nice 6-cup at Goodwill for ten bucks...a thorough cleaning & inspection (good gasket), some fresh-ground Italian roast, and a great Americano. Prefer this over my aluminun Bialetti.

Love this Vev Vigano. Beautiful pot and the coffee, using spring water and Miscela d'Oro Classico, is fabulous.

We discovered stove-top espresso makers during a trip to Italy last Spring/Summer. Came home and ordered the 6-cup model. Easy to use, easy to clean, we've been enjoying two to three pots a day for 6-months.We even take it with us when we travel. Just ordered the 14-cup pot so we can brew one pot per day. We use Kimbo Export Espresso. The combination provides great coffee. Have we become coffee snobs?

This is a well styled, high quality product. I have been the same machine almost every day for nearly 20 years with just a few gaskets changed along the way. Visitors always comment positively on coffee at out home and while I use good beans the Vev brews a very satisfying and simple cup. HIghly recommended.

Fantastico! Review by Johan

I've tried three brands of stovetop espresso makers. In my opinion Vev Vigano is the best. It makes smooth, tasty, never bitter espresso, using
LavAzza Caffe Espresso. I just followed the instructions and I am really pleased! I also read negative reviews regarding this pot. I love mine, no problems at all.
I can't believe that I stumbled upon espressozone.com. Cannot beat this site!

Can't Always Trust Negative Reviews Review by Melissa

I was apprehensive to buy this espresso pot because of some negative reviews that I read on another website. My main concern was whether or not the pot was truly stainless steel within and out. Some reviews I read said that it wasn't stainless steel inside, and smelled and tasted like chemicals. Before ordering I called the company and questioned this, took a chance, and ordered the 6 cup one.
And good news! Turns out it is stainless steel inside and out, however, because the inside of the lower chamber is sandblasted, it's just not shiny. It actually still had a little sand left inside the lower chamber. The "chemical" smell is actually from the new rubber gasket, which goes away after a couple brews.
What I did with mine, and what I would recommend to you, is to use just water the first three brews. That will clean it out well and get rid of the rubber smell. I also threw out the first brew of coffee.
Over all I'm very happy I ordered it. It works great. It doesn't leak. And after the first couple brews the gasket and upper filter comes easily out (and easily back in) to clean. It's pretty too!
I am now making delicious espresso every morning!

We bought this coffee maker in may of 2012. I grew up around stovetop espresso makers and this one, by far, is the best one. It is a really good value for the money and is exceptional in quality. We purchased the 14 cup model.
