When turning the R58 off each day, should I let some of the steam out of the steam wand after turning off the switch? I thought I heard somewhere that releasing the steam would help the machine the last longer.

Interesting question! The R58 has a vacuum breaker built into the boiler, which relaxes as the machine cools. So there really isn't a benefit to letting steam out, since the role of the vacuum break is equalize the pressure as the machine heats and cools. We can't imagine it would hurt the machine, but probably won't extend it's life.
