Description

The Zassenhaus La Paz is a true classic hand-crank coffee grinder, featuring an old-fashioned cast metal hopper design with a swing-open brass lid. The La Paz is beautifully crafted using beechwood with an attractive dark walnut finish, and high-carbon steel grinding burrs for years of reliable operation. This Zassenhaus hand coffee mill is far superior to the low-cost decorative grinders that are commonly available, and is designed for daily use. The precision conical burr grinding mechanism is fully adjustable, offering a consistently even grind from coarse through very fine. Simply swing open the hopper lid and pour your coffee or espresso beans into the top compartment, then turn the adjustment nut clockwise for a coarser grind, or counterclockwise for a finer grind; as you turn the crank you can enjoy the wonderful ground coffee aroma as it collects in the convenient removable drawer. The gentle grinding process provided by this Zassenhaus mill creates virtually no heat build-up and preserves the fresh, natural flavor of your coffee.

This grinder was awesome until the screw fell out. They are screwed in from inside the drawer area and you need a right angle screwdriver to keep them tight. The paint has been peeling but I don't really care that much. I thought it was stain. I've been using it for 10 years. I love it. I can get a nice fine grind and consistent. I'm glad I don't make coffee for several people because it would take 15 minutes to grind it by hand. Two minutes for one cup finally ground. For French press it's real quick.
